For the Nurses
If you’re newly pregnant with your first baby, you may not know, yet (and that’s totally ok) but it isn’t your doctor or your midwife that hangs out with you when you’re at the hospital in labor- it’s your nurse! They help facilitate an induction, position you for labor progression, and help you figure out pushing, AND SO MANY MORE THINGS, all while making sure you and your baby are safe!
This blog is for the nurses.
And this week is nurse appreciation week! We would be remiss to let this week end without taking a minute to recognize the VIP of the L&D departments!
To the client champions, the patient advocates, the peanut ball positioning rock stars, the keeping-you-and-your-baby-safe-peeps:
Thank you for always welcoming us into your workspace with open arms. (Especially locally. We truly do LOVE y’all! You are the absolute best!)
We recognize that birth is not easy. Not every birth has a happy ending. Not every birth is simple. You carry burdens that are simply far too heavy to carry, and you carry them for such a long time.
We see how hard you work for every patient that walks into the birth space. We see how you advocate for them. We see how you push to make birth better than you found it. We see how much you care. We see how you grieve with your patients. We see how you rejoice with them. We see how the love of people is what drew you to this job.
We see you.
We are so thankful for you, dear nurses.
For not just everything you do for our clients, but for who you are, at your core.
For everything you do.
For who you are.
We are thankful for you. We appreciate you!
