I’ve traveled some long road trips alone with four little kids over the years. Here are some tips for the ride if you’re the solo adult:
*Good music that doesn’t drive you crazy is a must. We found that we LOVED a few particular artists/albums. A few of our favorites: Barenaked Ladies: Snack Time, For the Kids, They Might Be Giants: Here Comes Science, anything by Laurie Berkner
*Pack a small box worth of toys/things they can do and put it next to their car seats within reach. Keeping in mind, though, that they may pull it all out within minutes. These were some of our kids’ favorite things when they were toddlers.
*Have a stockpile of snacks/multiple cups in the front passenger seat that you can easily hand to the back.
*Stop at parks or places with a play place. Even rest areas to let them run around.
*Make sure they’re traveling in comfortable clothes.
***my most important tip*** know they may fuss or cry, and as the driver, you have to just do your best to drive safely until the next stop. They’ll be ok, and you’re going to have a great road trip!
