Is this your first holiday with your baby? Unsure of what to ask Santa to leave you under the tree?
We’re no Oprah, but at Rocket City Doulas, our doulas DO have a list of favorite baby products! Whether you’re looking for items to put on your Christmas list, or you’re looking to buy a gift for a loved one, keep this list handy for reference!
Baby carriers. These are perfect for keeping your baby close, keeping your hands free, and keeping unwanted hands off your baby in public.
Our favorites:
Cyndle’s favorite Ring Sling: Love Held
Tracy’s favorite Soft Structured Carrier: Beco Gemini
Client Favorite Wrap: Solly Baby Carrier
Swaddles. The perfect swaddle is tight through the arms (two fingers of space) and allows movement at the hips/legs.
Our Favorites:
Tracy’s favorite: traditional swaddle blankets are my go-to with tiny newborns. These Aden +Anais blankets remain my favorite blankets to use for swaddling.
Client favorite: for middle-of-the-night ease and quickness: Woombie or Halo Sleepsack.
Honorable mention: Swaddelini Stumbled upon on TikTok, these swaddles have great reviews and seem like an awesome swaddle! (They are perfect for transitioning from the swaddle to arms-free as well!)
Noise Machines soothe the baby with sounds similar to the womb, one of Dr. Karp’s 5 S’s, plus, it drowns out sounds of other children/pets, etc.
Our favorites:
Brooke’s favorite: Hatch Baby Rest– can be controlled by an app, has a nightlight. Some models have a baby monitor or an ok-to-wake alarm for toddlers.
Tracy’s favorite: LectroFan Micro2– small, portable, and has a lot of quality sounds. The noise loop is not detectible.
Baby Products
Our favorites:
Robin’s favorite: NoseFrida for getting all the gunk out.
Client Favorite: Bottom balm to soothe irritation
Tracy’s Favorite: Haakaa Flower teether. I loved all things “Sophie” for teethers and toys when my kids were little. But, I think Haahaa has replaced that for me, now, as a doula.
